JANICA LANE joins PCGA as a Principal after receiving her MBA degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB), graduating in the top 25% of her class. At the GSB, she was an active member of the Women in Management, Private Equity, and Health & Fitness Clubs. Prior to business school, Janica was a researcher at Stanford University’s prestigious Center for Environmental Science and Policy (CESP), where she researched climate change with some of the nation’s leading experts in the field and co-authored numerous chapters and articles appearing in scientific journals and books.  She also co-authored a book on lymphoma and the US healthcare system titled The Patient from Hell, which was published in September 2005.

Prior to working at CESP, Janica was an Equity Research Associate on Prudential Securities’ energy team, where she covered the large-capitalization oil companies. She helped build the energy team from three members to 10 and oversaw two direct reports. Her team was consistently ranked in the top three in the sector by Institutional Investor magazine. Janica’s roles at Prudential included managing relationships with major institutional clients and company executives; developing and managing financial, valuation, and inventory models; evaluating corporate earnings data; and writing research notes and reports. She joined Prudential after completing dual B.A. degrees with Phi Beta Kappa honors at Stanford University. She spent six months living in Santiago, Chile, as part of her undergraduate education and is fluent in Spanish.

Janica has been an athlete for most of her life, beginning with 10 years as a competitive gymnast, followed by participation in volleyball and track & field. Today, she is an avid runner and marathoner, and is particularly passionate about trail running, having placed in a number of local trail events. She also enjoys traveling with her husband, gardening, hiking, fishing, and spending time with her family in Sonoma County.
